Plugged In Productions (PIP) is a small, highly ambitious, Cape Town based company with big aspirations in the field of audio visual technology. We strive for technical progression over cheap alternatives making our track record impeccable in terms of event success.
We provide individuals and small to large companies with affordable solutions to make their events highly engaging and immersive. PIP is a company who provides a technical department to any event organiser or venue, taking the pressure off the organisers to do this themselves. We are continuously learning and keeping up with fast-evolving technologies in the virtual/hybrid events world. Plugged In Productions are leaders in Virtual and Hybrid event services – always moving forward.
Director – Ryan Outhet is highly skilled in all thing’s audio visual for various types of events with more than 20 years’ experience. Mastering conference audio visual in all avenues initially, moving onto and specialising in interpretation with many global events. Thereafter, Ryan pursued an interest in client liaison and event project management before opening his own company (PLUGGED IN PRODUCTIONS) in 2020.
About Plugged In Productions
Founded at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020 when all events went towards being virtual in nature. Instead of dwelling on the dire situation of the live events industry – Ryan used this time to do every inch of learning and research that he could to find ways to pivot towards virtual and hybrid events. Spending up to 16 hours a day studying and learning new technology as well connecting with others in the industry in the UK, USA and Australia.
Having an inherent need to do things according to a different set of values, Ryan started Plugged In Productions. After learning all the in’s and out’s of the industry and many late nights of testing, more than a year later (2021), Plugged In Productions first virtual event was underway and in the bag.
Being ‘forced’ to pivot towards virtual and hybrid events opened up South Africa’s events industry as a whole to what the rest of the world has already been doing for some time. New technologies finally permeated the events industry in South Africa and created more avenues to make events much more accessible to all which is especially feasible in South Africa’s current economic climate.
About Ryan Outhet
Starting off his Audio Visual career at the age of 18 at Global Conferences, Ryan quickly realised that Audio Visual was an industry that he gravitated towards. A year or 2 later moving to Conference Communications and stepping up his AV game a notch, he put in the time progressively doing larger and more complex events. Ryan also took a keen interest in simultaneous interpretation in conference settings and studied remotely with Braeler International – for which he achieved top grades. After close to 11 years, Conference Communications closed its Cape Town offices and Ryan moved on to work at Eastern Acoustics.
Taking on a position (at EA) as a Project Manager for events Ryan was quickly recognised as an all rounder including a very hospitable client liaison manager. Ryan completed his almost 12 year tenure at Eastern Acoustics holding the position of Client Sales Manager and ensured the standard of service was upheld throughout.
Having the attitude of providing service beyond what is needed has always stood Ryan in good stead with many suppliers, peers and clients – having the same expectation of his service providers. Quality first always.
Over 2 decades of continuously progressing and learning has culminated in the opening of Plugged In Productions – which was a lifelong dream. Plugged In Productions continues to grow in the industry through working with event organisers, individuals and various venues.
